Shell McMillan and her feline friends must unravel a mystery where everyone’s a suspect and no one’s to blame . . .
With the grand re-opening of her Urban Tails Pet Shop just days away, Shell McMillan has her hands full planning entertainment for the festive event, including a fortune-telling parrot. But her jubilant mood is soon threatened by ominous rumors of the return of Johnny Draco, a former investment guru who swindled money from most of the residents of Fox Hollow and then vanished without a trace. And when the parrot predicts a dire future for Draco and his dead body is found just hours later, no one can say they’re surprised—but no one will say who did it.
With virtually everyone in town a suspect, the police turn their focus on a good friend of Shell’s who was seen arguing with the victim shortly before his death. Determined to clear her friend’s name, Shell begins investigating Draco’s past, his former employer, and everyone who lost money to him. And when the trail of clues suggests there may have been a completely different motive for the murder, Shell suddenly realizes she’s uncovered a secret someone would kill to keep hidden—and that if she’s not careful, the parrot may be predicting she has no future at all . . .

Spanning Genres
Most people know me as the writer of cozy mysteries; specifically ones that feature cats! I’ve penned not only the Urban Tails Pet Shop mysteries, but the Nick and Nora mysteries and the Cat Rescue mysteries as well.
It’s not unusual for writers to write in
more than one genre. Nora Roberts is a
good example. She writes romances under Nora Roberts, but under J.D. Robb she
pens one of the best detective series ever – the Eve Dallas mysteries! Stephen King is another multi-genre master.
Not only does he write horror (Carrie, It, the Shining) but he has also done
mystery (Colorado Kid) and Gothic fantasy (The Green Mile). And Anne Rice, while best known for her
vampire sagas, also penned erotic romance under the pen name A.N.Roquelaure.
And T. C. LoTempio is no exception to
writers spanning more than one genre!
Under the name of Toni LoTempio I penned
quite a few tomes, which were published by small press and a few
independently. One two volume series
chronicled the adventures of Raven Grace, whose dreams of a career in law
enforcement were shattered by a demon’s bite; another, entitled EBONY, centered
around Jess McCall’s search for her missing sister. She partners with a
reporter, Frankie Marshall, and their investigation leads them to an abandoned
factory outside Ebony where they must confront undead horrors and the insane
madman behind them. I also wrote about
Charity Jordan, a head writer for a gothic soap opera whose latest storyline
mirrors her sister’s death ten years before. When the troupe begins filming at
the scene of the tragedy, Charity discovers that there might be more to all
this than meets the eye-a force that’s using her as a pawn in a deadly game of
revenge!
Would I go back to penning
paranormal? Sure...but right now I’m
having too much fun writing about crime solving cats!
So check your favorite authors out! You might be surprised at what you find!
